The Inspo
pinterest, childhood, sunny days
I am a firm believer that I knew more as a 6 year old than I do now at 26. Or than most people know at 56. Maybe I didn't know how anything worked or what taxes were (still don't) or how to make money (it's fake anyways) or how to invest (my dad still helps me... and it's still fake), but I did know what truly mattered: I knew how to be present, I knew how to love loudly, I knew how to find joy in the little things. All of which just came naturally.
I think it's really easy for us as adults to get lost in our day to day. Work, meetings, money, properties, taxes, chores, errands - it adds up. Add social media and technology on top of that and its damn near impossible to be present.
This is the inspiration behind this piece. The message is simple: "I hope when I grow up, I remember that this is the whole point."
The point, as I see it, is to have fun, to find joy where you can, to spend time with friends and family, to go outside and touch grass, to laugh and play, to cry, to love, to feel free. All the other adult things, while obviously important, are not the point.
